Best Calorie Burning Exercises

Perhaps the most important thing to consider when choosing an exercise program is to find something that interests you and that you enjoy doing. The reason for this seems obvious: If you don't enjoy the activity (no matter how many calories you burn while doing it) the chances are pretty good that you will quit doing it before long. Naturally, you want to spend your time doing something that will improve your health and fitness but you also want to have some fun while you are at it.
Perhaps you have started some activities in the past that you thought might work but they just didn't quite meet your expectations or garner your interest and they were quickly set aside and forgotten. While many people enjoy hitting the gym and spending time on the machines to accomplish their workout goals, others can not bear the thought of doing that regularly to stay in shape. That's fine because there are a lot of options when it comes to finding the right exercise for you. Is it possible that you are one of the thousands of individuals who love to lace up a pair of boxing gloves and work out with a sparring partner or a punching bag?
Maybe cycling is the thing that gets your blood pumping and your heart racing. Does hiking the hills appeal to you? Many people have found the answer to their workout dilemma as they have discovered hiking to be not only body slimming and strengthening but also deeply fulfilling. It is estimated that a whopping 530 calories can be burned in an hour as one maneuvers a trail. That isn't too bad especially when you are enjoying yourself in the process. Hiking is one of the great cardio vascular exercises that help to build endurance and strengthen core muscles (along with thighs, calves, and back). Then, there is the scenery to be enjoyed while hiking which undoubtedly beats watching other sweaty bodies at the gym or some uninspiring television show on the big screen.
The fresh air is another boon to the feeling of well-being that we all desire. One does not have to be in tip top physical shape to start hiking. Much to the contrary, it is something that almost anyone can do. As with most other forms of exercises, it pays to start slowly and work up to a pace that is agreeable to you. The rest will come naturally.

Exercises For Belly Fat - How To Get Flat Abs

When they first began to appear on film stars and music idols in the late 80s, people had little idea of how to get flat abs. Hence for many years that dream was left to celebrities alone to get six-pack abs. As time went by, celebrity personal trainers began reaching out to people at home to offer them the same opportunity as their A list clients. Today there are countless exercises for belly fat available online all promising to get you ripped abs. Here are ten most effective exercises for belly fat and tips for how to get flat abs.
  1. Warm up - It is important to warm up before starting any workout to get six-pack abs, in order to prevent injury. Start with a 30-second jog.

  2. High knees - While in the warm up stage, after the jog go straight into high knees for another 30 seconds. To do this workout, lift up your arms while lifting the knees to the waist. Lift with your core and not with the back.

  3. Skipping rope - Next, you need to skip rope for another 30 seconds. Since you do not have time to break and grab a rope or you might not have the space to skip a real rope, just use an imaginary rope.

  4. Power jump - After skipping, go straight into power jumps. To perform this workout, slightly bend your knees, keep the butt down and then jump up bringing your knees to your elbows. Do this for 30 seconds.

  5. Rest - You need to take a 30 seconds rest to cool down. During this break drink some water and breathe through. If you have a heart monitor, check your heart rate and make sure it is right.

  6. Oblique jumps - Get back into the workout and do oblique jumps. Open up your legs wide, slightly bend the knees and start to jump bringing your knees to the elbows. Do this for 30 seconds.

  7. C-Sit workouts - For the next step in how to get flat abs, go into a C-sit position. Sit on the floor with your legs straight. Out your arms under your thighs, slightly fold the knees, and lean back until your arms are straight. Bring your arms to your core and start to twist the upper body from side to side. Do this for 20 seconds and then start to lift the knee as you do it for another 30 seconds. This is one of the most important exercises for belly fat that you can do.

  8. High plank knees - Next, come up to a high plank; keep the back straight and your butt down. Slowly start to lift the knees one at a time, bringing them to your chest. Do this for 30 seconds.

  9. Low Plank knees - Do the same thing as in high plank but now on low plank. To get to a low plank use your elbows instead of your palms.

  10. Stretch - Along with the workout, stretching is the most important part of the workout. It helps your muscles to heal and recovery while preventing injury. Stretch out you abs by lying down on your stomach then lift up your upper body slowly while keeping your hips on the floor.
Throughout your exercises for belly fat, it is important to keep the core tight in order to really workout your muscles. Always have a bottle of water nearby and maintain your form. Do this work out three times a week, skipping one day each time. This is how to get flat abs.

Physical Therapy Exercises for Balance

As a physical therapist, we understand that good balance is a foundation for all movement activities as well as functional activities. In physical therapy, we strive to maximize a person's quality of life by focusing on several categories including strength, posture, mobility, gait and function. Having good balance, is the foundation for each one of those categories. By performing balance exercises, you help to strengthen the appropriate muscles in your lower legs that are needed for movement activities. Having an aligned center balance point helps the individual to have an upright posture which reduces friction on the joints, thereby decreasing pain in the joints and surrounding muscles. Balance training is the key to having good posture. Equilibrium exercises also help to enhance mobility. By having a good balanced base of support, the extremities are able to produce force and complete the tasks efficiently. Furthermore, having to balance is critical for gait. When we walk, we spend time balancing on one foot during the stance phase of walking.
Consequently, practicing balance exercises for standing on one foot is essential for maintaining stability while walking. Balance training is essential to perform before starting a stretching program. Stability exercises will help you stay grounded while you reach out to touch your toes or reach back behind you to stretch the back. Many stretching positions can put you in a position of being off balanced. That is why it is essential to practice equilibrium routines before you start to stretch. Finally, having good stability is critical for all functional movements including our activities of daily living. We all need balance skills for reaching overhead into a cupboard without falling backwards. Additionally, moving from sitting to standing requires stability so that we do not fall forwards when we get up. Going up and down stairs also requires balance abilities to maintain proper momentum and to keep from tripping and falling. As physical therapists, we know that good balance is a foundation required to perform all these movements.
Physical Therapy Exercises for Balance
In physical therapy, we apply balance activities to most of the exercises that we have our patients perform. For example, to increase balance skills, or to build strength and core muscles as well as help those sore shoulder muscles heal, we can add standing on a soft or uneven surface while performing shoulder strengthening exercises. To help build muscle strength that supports arthritic knees, we often train the hamstring and quadriceps muscles to perform strengthening exercises while on a balance board. The added challenge of imbalance enhances strength and balance abilities at the same time. Additionally, in therapy we make sure to challenge our postoperative hip and knee replacement folks with their balance during walking. We often add obstacles like stepping over cones or on and off different size steps to advance coordination, proprioception and stability. Who says physical therapy can't be fun?
Physical Therapy Exercises For People With Balance Problems
Some of us Physical Therapists have gone on to specialize in patients who have balance problems and dizziness issues. Our specialty is classified as Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapists. We work with individuals specifically on foundational balance routines and exercises to eliminate vertigo. In Vestibular Rehabilitation, we instruct patents in detail how to find their balance, how to use proper balance techniques when walking and moving. We evaluate each individual and determine which equilibrium exercises are suitable for their recovery. One of my greatest joys is to watch the journey of folks going from a history of falling and having a fear of falling to applying specific balance techniques and exercises which lead them to a life of stability and higher quality of life.
The author is a licensed Physical Therapist who specializes in balance and dizziness disorders. The author has developed the Exercise For Balance DVD for you to learn the specific balance techniques and balance exercises needed to improve stability, prevent falls and enhance your fitness regime in the comfort of your own home. For the price of one copay you can have an expert balance trainer lead you through a balance program that will strengthen your balance abilities and take you to the next level of fitness or sports competition. Cardio Exercises for Newbies

There are countless cardio exercises you can use to achieve the results you desire. In this article I will explain some of the best workouts for accelerating fat loss, and keeping it off for good.
Warning: these exercises are high-intensity and will require this thing called "hard-work". Some people seem to have forgotten what that is! If you want real cardio results, you need to WORK HARD.
Okay, enough of the motivational speech... let's get started. Make sure you always dynamic stretch before these explosive exercises to avoid any unnecessary injury.
Sprint Training
Sprints are the most effective high-intensity cardio training exercise you can use. This explosive exercise rapidly destroys fat, and helps you build lean muscle in the quads, glutes, hamstrings, and core.
The best part of sprints is that an entire routine will only take about 15 minutes to complete, as opposed to a 60 minute long distance run.
There are many variaitons of the sprint including traditional sprints, interval sprints, hill sprints, and resistance sprints.
Plyometrics
Plyos are an excellent way to burn fat, build lean muscle, and spice up your routine. These exercises are designed to strengthen fast twitch muscle fibers, and thus increase athleticism and explosiveness.
Some of the most popular exercises include platform jumps, depth-jumps, weighted explosions, jump rope, granny tosses, and horizontal explosions.
Agility's
Most people assume agility training is only for athletes. However, agility's are actually an excellent high-intensity cardio technique. These explosive exercises are designed to increase foot speed and non-linear quickness. Some of the best agility training techniques include ladder drills, cone drills, and hurdles.
Bodyweight Circuits
Yes, believe it or not, bodyweight exercises are actually a great way to improve anaerobic endurance. You will simply combine about 4-5 different bodyweight exercises and turn them into a circuit. Perform each exercise consecutively without any rest. Finish the entire circuit and then repeat it about 3-4 times. This is very challenging, but very rewarding.
Bodyweight exercises will increase full body strength, improve lean muscle mass, and rapidly decrease fat. Some effective exercises you can use within your circuit include squat variations, push-up variations, planks, and mountain climbers.
There are many high-intensity cardio training options you can choose from! These exercises are a great way to spice up your routine and ensure that your body is constantly being challenged. If you're just a beginner then I recommend you start with sprints. This will allow you to build a solid foundation for more advanced cardio exercises in the future. What's the next step? GET STARTED!
I hope this article helpful. For more cardio exercises, visit http://www.cardiotrainingfreak.com/cardio-exercises-for-fat-loss/ now.

The 5 Best Leg Exercises

1.) Squats- These are great for developing hips, glutes, quads and hamstrings strength. Also if you are bearing a load they are very beneficial in developing core strength, stability and upper body strength. There are many great variations to the squat. Professionally, I recommend people master the body weight squat and the technique before progressing to weighted squats. The next progression in my opinion should be the front squat as that is most functional. Back squats are good too but not absolutely necessary like many power lifters and extremists might want to claim on their t-shirts and Facebook walls. I'll write an article soon on the reasons why and why not to do back squats.
2.) Dead lift- These are a tremendous exercise for developing the posterior chain muscles and the entire lumbo-pelvic-hip complex, and they can be done with barbell, hex-bar, dumbbells or kettlebells. The heavy barbell deadlift is another great movement that is unfortunately over emphsized by many power lifters and extremists. All things in perspective, folks. Learning this movement requires proper training and doing it a barbell may not be for you. You can do it just fine with dumbbells and kettlebells, both of which are my preference when it comes to function and posture. Most my clients perform this movement with light/moderate weight for their body type and we move slow, controlled with proper posture position and core brace. Seek some help from a qualified professional on these folks. And be a student.
3.) Stiff Leg Dead Lift- I recommend these specifically for developing the glutes, yet it has similar benefits as the regular deadlift. All things pretty much the same except their is less bend in the knees. Note that the knees are no straight or locked, but they are stiff. Another name for this is the Romanian dead lift. A great variation and one I use quite often in my practice is the single leg romanian dead lift. Incredible for developing balance and strength in the lower body and core!
4.) Lunges- An excellent movement for training our body unilaterally (one side at a time). Lunges are imperative for every routine. They work on glute, hip, quad, ankle and core strength/stability. My recommended lunge is the standing reverse step lunge. Often time people do a forward step or walking lunges, but without proper training and technique this is a recipe for injury. There is less risk in a reverse step. Furthermore, being able to hold the lunge position for a length of time is vital. Practice static holds and train your body to be strong in that bottom position of the lunge.
5.) Supine Bridges (hip extension)- these can be done on the floor or on a swiss ball whereas swiss ball bridges are the progression. Supine hip bridges are great for improving glute strength and teaching hip extension. This exercise is a must for those people with tight hip flexors, which with 90% of Americans having "sit down" jobs makes this movement even more of a priority. Sitting for extended periods of time will cause short and tight hips flexors.
These five workouts are my Top picks for the best lower body exercises. Do not replace these lifts with anything, but you certainly should add your favorite auxiliary lifts to go along with them.
Your exercise program should be based upon your body's own specific needs after a careful biomechanic assessment, best done by a fitness professional. And due to technology these days, working with someone like me even if you are out of town is still effective through video analysis.

Exercises for Obtaining a Flat Stomach

Who would not want to have a surfboard flat abdomen or midriff? However, given unhealthy lifestyle, bad diet and lack of exercise, most of the people tend to grow a paunch over a period of time. It is very obvious that if one wants to have a flat stomach then one should engage in exercises that specifically target the abdomen area and at the same time mobilize the rest of the body.
A common misconception is that doing hundreds of sit-ups and crunches on a daily basis will result in a flat stomach. This is definitely not true, because simply crunching your stomach is not going to get you anywhere, you will need to follow a disciplined diet and engage in exercises that work out the entire body too. If you want to get rid of belly fat then you should choose exercises which encompass endurance-based cardiovascular work-outs like marathon running.
Likewise high intensity exercises are ideal for people who wish to burn fats from your body in a speedy manner. In this way you will be able to burn large amount of calories, boost the metabolic rate of your body and also help you in developing lean muscles. Some of the effective exercise moves that one can perform in order to get a flat stomach would be pull-ups, push-ups, squats, dead-lifts and burpees. Of course these moves are not easy and are certainly very challenging and tiring, but one should not give up hope because they are well-worth it.
One does not always have to hit the gym in order to obtain a flat stomach, this objective can be achieved right at home too. Always concentrate on exercises that utilize your body weight while training. Exercise moves stated above might be a bit too challenging for beginners or newbies and therefore it would be better to give them to experts or experienced people only, i.e. those who can work out for an extended period of time. Beginners can start with simple exercises and gradually increase their intensity.
In case you have been performing the crunch but are not getting any significant results then you could try crunching on an exercise ball. This way your feet would lay flat on the ground. To get started with the exercise, simply lie on top of the ball with your torso and thighs parallel to the ground. Now, just contract your abdomen by raising up the torso region and exhaling as you go up. You should inhale when you are going back to the original position. While doing this exercise, make sure you are stable on top of the ball.

Belly Fat Exercises - Tips About Exercising to Lose Belly Fat

Belly fat exercises seem to be the core focus of many people who want to lose their stomach fat.
Exercise, however, on its own is simply not enough to get rid of unwanted mid-section fat.
Another mistake people make when exercising is to focus on their bellies only, which is not the way to gain a flat tummy and to show that six-pack abdominal.
So here are the basic tips to follow in your daily rituals:
Plan a nutritious diet that you can eat daily.
Prepare a seven day menu for breakfasts (the most important meal of the day), lunches (the biggest allowable meal of the day), and finally the recommended in-between meal snacks.
Never starve yourself; it is better to eat numerous small amounts over a day than not eating at all.
Make a list of the different foods that help in losing belly fat and incorporating them in your diet.
Your liquid intake has to be satisfied by drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day.
Healthy and well planned smoothies are also beneficial when exercising. They give you energy, satisfy hunger pangs and keep you hydrated.
Plan an exercise worksheet for your five day week.
You don't want to do heavy exercises seven days a week; the body needs time to rest and to heal.
By over-exercising and skimping on your food intake will not speed up the process of losing belly fat, in fact, you could be doing damage to your general well being.
Doing exercises for the stomach only does not work either, you have to exercise all parts of the body in order to lose excess fat.
In other words don't just do sit-ups and stomach crunches only. If you aren't doing these two exercises correctly you'll be wasting your time anyway and not wasting the belly fat.
The best method is to focus on exercising the large muscle groups, like the chest, back and legs which stimulate your metabolism and the fat burning hormones which lead to a hard, well defined group of muscles.
If you are not a physically active person the chances are you don't like exercising. You can start off by doing light exercises such as walking, stretching, dancing (even on your own at home), swimming, walking the dog and by using your own body weight resistance training methods.
To get the best results you have to live a balanced lifestyle of work, play, exercise and proper nutrition.

Exercises For Fat Loss At Home With Your Own Gym

The incredible health benefits of getting regular exercise are no secret, yet there are still, on average sixty percent of American adults that do not get enough exercise, while a staggering twenty-five percent of the population makes no attempt to exercise at all. Exercising for health and exercising for fat loss at home have never been more convenient. Regardless of whether this comes from an hour of structured fitness or simple housecleaning, getting active will help you strengthen your heart and other muscles while keeping your body fat down and your energy up.
Creating your own home gym will not only help you get and stay healthy, it will help you become more consistent in your workouts because there is no need to pay extra fees for memberships, drive in crazy traffic to get to and from your gym and most importantly, any time you can grab just 10 minutes for yourself, you have time to fit in some exercise.
Many studies have shown that the more active are, the better your overall health will be. There is a direct correlation between exercising for fat loss at home on your own personal gym equipment and a lowered risk of diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, colon cancer and many bone, muscle and joint problems.
Now, if this isn't enough to help you realize the endless possibilities and benefits of having your own home gym studies also show that as little as 10 minutes of physical fitness can help relieve stress and elevate your mood so that you function better mentally and emotionally.
Two other great factors about working out at in the privacy of your own home are that you don't have to exercise for hours a day, anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes is perfect for most people depending on your goal. If you need a stress break, spend 10 minutes walking outdoors or on a treadmill, or maybe grab 10 minutes of yoga before you have to go pick up the kids.
If your goal is fat loss how about jumping on the treadmill or popping in a cardio fitness DVD for 30 to 60 minutes before the rest of the family gets up for the day? Or even better, how about making the time for fitness at home after everyone has left the house for the day?
The second great factor about exercising for fat loss at home is that you don't need a lot of equipment to build your own home gym, and you build it at your pace. If you are interested in getting started with DVDs all you need is a DVD player and a fitness DVD that includes cardio, strength work and stretching. Once you have these two items you are set for at least 12 weeks before you really need to change things up.
Next you could purchase some resistance bands and a second DVD that uses resistance bands and now you have two workouts you can alternate for the next 12 weeks and you have still spent less than $100 for 24 weeks of fitness. Of course you could always add walking to the mix giving you a third form of exercise and walking is free!
Over the months and years you can slowly begin adding other fitness equipment. As your exercise pallet changes you may find yourself purchasing more DVDs so that you eventually have a nice little collection that affords you a different workout every day. You will also most likely find yourself purchasing various sets of weights over the years.
Don't worry about space, in a small corner of my living room behind the sofa I store a short step, two kettlebells, three sets of dumbbells, two yoga blocks, a yoga mat, my stability ball, 60 lbs of barbell plates and a barbell as well as a 12 lb medicine ball. I pull out what I need when I workout then I store the equipment back in the corner when I am done.
I also know a lot of people who have converted extra bedrooms and garages into their own personal gym space.
Another great benefit of working out from home is that you don't have the distraction of other people and you don't have to worry about the cleanliness of the equipment.
Everyone can benefit when exercising for fat loss at home with their own home gyms. You can find many reviews of some of the best equipment available right on your computer and when you go into the stores to actually see the equipment so see how it will fit in your home you will be allowed to try the equipment out if you are dressed appropriately.

5 Easy at Home Exercises That Will Completely Demolish Body Fat

We all know that everyday life can get extremely busy. There's work to be done, errands to run and events to attend. Dinner needs cooked, clothes need washed and kids need to be ready for school. The cycle repeats itself over and over, leaving you tired, worn out and ready to crash.
That's when you realized that you missed another workout. Another opportunity to burn off calories and lose that extra flub has been blown.
Does that sound familiar? If so, I've got some news that you may or may not like...
Even the "busiest" people still have time to fit in a workout!
Yes, I said it. It doesn't matter how busy you are, either. There is always time for a workout. The key is to get creative and bring the intensity. In fact, you can work in a fat blasting workout that takes no longer than 15 minutes of your time!
Destroy Body Fat with a 15 Minute Circuit
If you're pressed for time, a 15 minute circuit is the exact prescription you need to keep your body in "fat burning" mode.
What is a circuit, exactly? Good question...
A circuit is nothing more than a few simple exercises that are performed at a specific duration with a high intensity. Each exercise is performed back-to-back with minimal rest, which keeps your heart rate up to help you burn the maximum amount of calories in the shortest amount of time possible.
With that said, I've put together a simple circuit comprised of 5 incredibly easy exercises that you can perform right in your home. Read through each exercise and how to perform it first, and then check out the section that immediately follows to find out how to combine all exercises into a fat blasting circuit that will whip your behind - all in 15 minutes!
Exercise #1 - Jumping Jacks
The infamous jumping jacks are a classic exercise that have been used for decades, helping people all across the world condition their bodies and get into shape. It's a great way to start off this circuit, as it will help elevate the heart rate to help you get ready for the rest of the exercises that follow.
How to Perform This Exercise: Place your feet together and arms to your side. When you jump, raise your arms laterally and above your head while moving your feet outward, keeping them shoulder width apart. Jump back into your start position and repeat.
Exercise #2 - Jump Rope
The jump rope is another old school exercise that is still very relevant today. It will work your cardiovascular system and get your heart moving, keeping your heart rate up and helping you burn up calories.
How to Perform This Exercise: Don't worry - you don't actually need a jump rope here. Instead, place your feet together and arms to your side. Start to hop on one foot, kicking the other foot out in front of you and rotate your hands as if you were actually moving a jump rope. Make sure to alternate your feet every 2 to 3 hops and keep your hands moving.
Exercise #3 - High Knee Jumps
High knee jumps are an excellent plyometric exercise that will help you kick this circuit into high gear. It's simple to perform, yet incredibly effective at working your cardiovascular system and your body overall.
How to Perform This Exercise: Stand with your arms to your side and your feet shoulder width apart. Jump and raise your left knee waist high, then bring your left leg down. Immediately jump and raise your right knee waist high. Alternate each knee/leg, jumping and raising them as high as possible. Stand tall and keep your back straight during the exercise. Get ready to feel the burn!
Exercise #4 - Burpees
The burpee is a bodyweight exercise that absolutely rocks your entire body. You'll feel it working in your core, upper and lower body. This is one exercise that will push you to your limits and test your strength.
How to Perform This Exercise: Stand with your arms at your side and feet shoulder width apart. Squat and place you hands on the floor. Kick your legs back and position your body to prepare for a push-up. Perform one push up and jump your feet forward into your hands, placing you back into a squat position. Jump straight up as high as you can and repeat.
Exercise #5 - Side Step Shuffle
The side step shuffle (also known as the lateral shuffle) is one of my favorite exercises. It's used in a variety of sports conditioning programs, making it a great addition to this 15 minute circuit. It's easy to do and will keep the sweat beads rolling right off of your forehead!
How to Perform This Exercise: Starting at one end of the room, bend your knees and get into a squat position with your hands out in front of you. Remain in the same squat position and shuffle to the other side of the room as fast as you can. Repeat the exercise once you reach the other side.
How to Combine All Exercises into a 15 Fat Blasting Workout
Now that you are aware of these exercises and how to perform them, it's time to combine them all into a circuit that will shred fat, burn calories and work your body - all in 15 minutes of your time.
The 15 Minute Fat Crushing Circuit
- Perform exercises 1 through 5 for 45 seconds at the highest intensity possible, followed by a 15 second rest. Completing this will result in one full circuit (or 5 minutes total)
- Repeat each circuit for a grand total of 3 times (15 minutes total)
- If you are worried about keeping track of your time and have a tablet PC, laptop or desktop computer nearby, using something like Online Stopwatch is a great way to keep track of timing your circuits and intervals (don't worry - it's free)
No More Excuses
You've got an entire program that you can capitalize on right here, making it easy for you to fit in a powerful and intense workout regardless of your schedule. Even if you're a dedicated fitness enthusiast, life happens. There will be times when fitting in your workout is going to be a challenge, and that is why this is truly a "one size fits all" emergency solution that you can count on.

Today's Routines: For a Flatter Stomach & Slimmer Thighs
For many, the lower part of their body, which includes the stomach, butt and thighs, is where they would love the most work done and thus, today I have include several exercises that concentrate on these areas.
As with all of the routines that you see on my fitness page, you can decide on the combination of routines you choose to do to, either choosing a few to concentrate on or all of them for a full workout. With all routines, aim to do the amount of repetitions and sets stated.
Do not rest between sets, instead moving from one to the other in quick succession in order to burn the maximum calories.
You can choose to do each exercise one after the other, and then repeat them three times (rather than repeating each exercise three times before moving onto the next one) for added variety.
For routines that include weights, you should choose weights that are not so light that you can do the seventh to tenth rep as easily as the first few but never choose weights that are so heavy that you cannot even do three! (That is, unless you want to bulk up!)
Exercise sensibly by warming up before and cooling down afterwards in order to avoid stress and injuries to the body. For the first five minutes you can warm up by way of light cardio exercises to get the heart rate going. Skipping, jogging or running on the spot are all ideal.
To cool down, stretches are ideal. I will add a few cool down stretches in a separate post that should be implemented into all workouts.
I would highly recommend that you incorporate some form of cardiovascular exercise into these routines - again, in the form of skipping, running or jogging on the spot - for twenty minutes and aim to workout for a minimum of forty five minutes a day, four times a week to see maximum results quickly.
Stomach
With all my exercises I advise that you keep your stomach taut, even when breathing out. As you wish your stomach to be in a bikini is how you should firm it! This will assist in training the muscles to tighten and eventually it will become second nature to you. (Imagine pulling your belly button into your spine.) This is a technique that should be applied to your everyday life and within a short space of time, along with these routines below, you will notice a significant difference.
~ Lying on your back with your body straight, cross your legs and lie them flat on the ground and place your hands behind your head (to support your neck). Abs Specific Exercises With Kettlebells

I am often asked about Kettlebell Workouts for Abs development and Abs specific exercises which can be performed with the Kettlebell.
The answers are always really simply and yet still appear to shock people. The truth is that the Rocky films and their epic training montages have convinced us all that we have to be able to perform the Dragon flag with insane intensity and be able to have medicine balls not only dropped onto our Abs but they also have to bounce off them.
Now for the answer... nearly every weight bearing movement involves and will exercise the Abdominal wall!
As we move into the arena of the Kettlebell we can start to look at why Kettlebell exercises may as well be your weapon of choice to sharpen the Abs. The very nature of the Kettlebell forces more stress onto your core muscles than any of its weight lifting cousins such as the Dumbbell or Barbell. This due to the cannon-ball like shape and the position of the handle - basically, the body is always in contact with the weight and the force of the weight meaning that as any exercise you perform moves along it's route of completion one muscle group takes over from another as oppose to a slight 'mid-rep' rest.
Full body Kettlebell movements such as Goblet Squat, Kettlebell Swing and the Kettlebell Clean are not only fantastic mass building exercises but they heavily involve the core muscle groups and will dramatically improve the strength and conditioning of the Abs.
You can of course, perform Abs specific movements such as Kettlebell Crunches, Kettlebell Sit-Ups and Kettlebell Hanging Leg raises but there is very little evidence to suggest this will improve the definition in your Abdominal wall.
The fact remains that as long as your body fat percentage is as low as possible then your Abs will show through. Proof of this can be found in your local swimming, any young boy with low body fat will display the 'six pac abs' physique. This is just a simple case of everyone having the Abdominal wall structure which is normally covered by a layer of Fat tissue but when we have low body fat (as many young Boys do) the Abs show through.
This basically highlights the fact that if we all do cardio and keep the diet clean to keep the body fat low, our Abs will show through with the need for Abs specific exercises.
